Riverside Vets is an independent small animal practice in Bishopstoke, caring for pets across Eastleigh and the surrounding area. We take time to really get to know your pet – their personality, routines, and what matters most to you.
Independence means we make decisions based on what’s right for your pet, not a set rulebook. You’ll see familiar faces, with an experienced team who stay, listen, and build genuine relationships.
From puppies and kittens to older pets needing extra support, we focus on calm, thoughtful care. We offer 20-minute consultations, are proudly feline-friendly, provide space for nervous dogs, run dog confidence clinics, and offer a preventative healthcare plan with all-inclusive consultations. We also provide a full range of clinical services, including dentistry, to keep your pets healthy and happy.

Last week, we said goodbye to our wonderful vet, Heidi.![]()

It has been an absolute pleasure having Heidi as part of the Riverside Vets family over the last few years. ![]()

Her kindness, dedication and true compassionate care have made such a difference to so many of our patients and their owners, and we’ve loved having her as part of our team. She’ll be missed by all of us.![]()

After finishing with us, Heidi has been enjoying a well-deserved Disney cruise before embarking on the next stage of her veterinary career, where she’ll be pursuing her dentistry certificate – an exciting opportunity to develop her passion for dental care and continue expanding her skills.![]()

Meet Dash! Dash is a chinchilla belonging to Jess one of our vets. Dash unfortunately hurt his eye. Because he couldn't see and the eye was causing him discomfort it was decided that the best option was to remove the eye, a procedure called an enucleation.![]()

Dash was anaesthetised and carefully monitored by Registered Veterinary Nurse Lois. Jess removed the eye and the surrounding conjunctiva. Our new cautery unit was used to control bleeding, which is especially important in smaller animals.![]()

Dash recovered really well and went home the same day and is now back to causing his usual mischief with his brothers!
